Carrie Kahn’s artwork reveals her extensive training in both art and biology as much as her immediate world. Like the PhD scientist that she is, her work reflects an observational study of natural subjects, seemingly without interference or orchestration. Yet as an artist, Kahn expresses a decidedly more playful impressionistic point of view that develops into magical thinking and incorporating creative liberties in to realistic scenes — presenting an awareness of subjects in soft focus, often to the point of abstraction.
